Exciting Guest Speaker at CSC
Gary Jobson, national chairman of the Leukemia Cup Regatta, President of US
Sailing, and lymphoma survivor, will speak Saturday, April 24, 2010 at
the Corinthian Sailing Club. Jobson is a world-class sailor, television
commentator, author and corporate advisor based in Annapolis, MD. He
has won many championships in one-design classes, the America's Cup
with Ted Turner in 1977, the infamous Fastnet Race and many of the
world's ocean races. He has led ambitious expeditions to the Arctic,
Antarctica and Cape Horn.
In 1999, Jobson won the Nathanael G. Herreshoff Trophy, awarded annually to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the sport of sailing in the United States. In 2003, Jobson was inducted into the America's Cup Hall of Fame. In 2003, Jobson was diagnosed with lymphoma. He is now cancer-free.
